NON UNIFORM DAY - 22ND MARCH, 2002
Tomorrow is a fund-raising, non-uniform day! The suggested donation is £1.00 per child, which should be handed in to the appropriate class teacher.
SCHOOL DINNERS
We are not able to provide a school lunch on Monday 15th April. Caen Street School will be closed for a non-pupil day and it is unclear at the moment if our new kitchen will be fully functional. Therefore, we would ask that all the children bring a packed lunch on the first day of term. There will be a notice published in the school hallway on Monday 15th April informing you what will be happening with regard to school lunches for the rest of that week.
UPDATE ON WALKERS TOKENS AND TESCO VOUCHERS
750 Walkers Book Tokens and 1,700 Tesco Computer Vouchers
Please keep them coming in. We're unlikely to meet the Walkers 'Early Bird' Target but don't be too disappointed, by forfeiting the 250 free book tokens offered you will have longer to get your tokens in to us, which should still mean we are able to order a good selection of books. The deadline to get both tokens and vouchers into school is Wednesday 26th June.
SPONSORED WALK - MAY 2002
Each year in the Summer Term FROGS organise a sponsored walk along Putsborough Beach, which is actually a magnificent boundary of our catchment area. When we say walk some of the children, and parents, don't walk but run and complete this challenge very quickly indeed! The rest of us take in the scenery and enjoy the speed of the youngest children which is a much more sedate pace. This walk will be a little earlier than usual this year owing to a very busy school diary plus other out-of-school activities. It will take place during the first couple of weeks in May, (probably a Friday after school). The actual date will be given to you as soon as possible together with other details. We thought however, in view of the Easter break, it best to give you some advance warning, together with distributing the sponsor forms (please see attached), so that you have plenty of time to get those sponsors to commit their pennies or pounds!
DEVON PRIMROSE SURVEY
If you are interested in taking part in this survey more information is available on the website: www.devon.gov.uk/primrose. There is also a poster on the noticeboard in the school hallway.
END OF TERM
On Wednesday 27th March we will all be going to Croyde Baptist Church for our end of term assembly which starts at 2.30 p.m. As in previous years we will be walking as a school down to Croyde. Parents are welcome to join us for this assembly but please can all the children be collected from the Church by 3.15 p.m.
We hope everyone enjoys the Easter holiday and we look forward to seeing all the children back in school on Monday 15th April. This is a different date from the rest of the Braunton schools because our staff attend a special small schools conference in June when the extra non-pupil day will be taken.
