2nd May, 2002 Issue No. 163

WELCOME BACK
We welcome back to Georgeham School Mrs. Feesey and Mr. Jenkins who will be with us until the end of term.

OVERVIEWS
Accompanying this Newsletter are the overviews for your child(ren) for the Summer Term.
We hope you find them of interest.

MATHS INVADERS
We have been trialing Maths Invaders in school and consider it to be a very good tool for number bonds, tables and associated skills like fractions and lowest common multiples. It does not teach methods or help if you make a mistake but it does provide useful practise and many children will find this is a good way of speeding up their thinking. There will be opportunities in school to use this resource but there is never enough time to practise and so we have enclosed the advertising leaflet with all Key Stage 2 children. If you would like to see children working on this programme we will be using it on Tuesday morning 8.50 - 9.15 and on Tuesday afternoon from 3.00 - 3.15 p.m. please come in and join us.

CLUBS
Netball and Football Club are able to run today which will be the last session for this year. There is a tournament on Thursday 30th May and the children that were invited to take part last time will be selected again.

Next Thursday there will be Kwik Cricket for Years 4 and 5 and Tag Rugby initially just for Year 6. Please sign below if you would like your child to join either of these activities. Computer Club will run for the next three Tuesdays for those children who signed for it last term.

Mrs. Feesey will be continuing with her French Club after half-term.

SPONSORED WALK
This is due to take place tomorrow 3rd May starting promptly at 4.00 p.m. on Putsborough Beach. Everybody welcome. If you are new to the school and need further information please about this annual event please ask!
