GEORGEHAM C OF E PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER Thursday 3rd October Issue No. 178

ANNUAL PARENTS MEETING WITH GOVERNORS / EXTRAORDINARY FROGS MEETING
A reminder that on Monday 7th October at 7.30 p.m. we are holding the annual parents meeting with governors. Please do your best to attend. There will be light refreshments available from 7.15 p.m.

On Thursday 26th September the FROGS AGM was held. Five very enthusiastic parents together with Mrs. Tamlyn and Miss Spencer met and discussed the wonderful fundraising of more than £7,000 which had taken place last year within our community. We also discussed the pledged £2,000 which together with a Sport England £10,000 grant would create a wonderful outdoor facility for our children over the next couple of months. Unfortunately attendance at this meeting did not constitute a quorum for Friends of Georgeham School to nominate a new chair, vice chair, secretary, treasurer and committee so at this moment there is no FROGS. The Governors have decided that this is a very important part of our school and wish to give time at Monday?s meeting to this issue and hopefully the parents present will be able to vote in a new committee. Again please do your best to attend.

HARVEST FESTIVAL AND ASSEMBLY
This Sunday, 6th October, is the Church?s annual Harvest Festival and there will be a family service at 10.30 a.m. in St. George?s Church, Georgeham. During this service there will be an opportunity for the children to present their harvest basket gifts. As in previous years we are hoping to supply a good quantity of tinned and dried goods to the Barnstaple Poverty Action Food (BPAG) Store which helps families throughout the year in times of crisis. We shall be continuing with this same theme next Friday at 2.30 p.m. at our school Harvest Festival. Again we would like everyone to bring donations of tinned foods or dried goods for BPAG. Parents will be very welcome to join us for this occasion.

FANCY DRESS PARTY/DISCO
This is being held on Friday 18th October at Georgeham School from 5.30 p.m. ? 8.00 p.m. Forms to reserve tickets were included in last week?s newsletter and should be returned to the box in the office by tomorrow.
