GEORGEHAM CHURCH OF ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL
N E W S L E T T E R

Thursday 28th November 2002 Issue No. 185

Welcome to Jo-Louise, James, Kizzy, Leilah and Daniel. The Governors and staff are very aware of the numbers of pupils in each year and are continually working towards providing the best groupings possible for all the children throughout their time at Georgeham. The school policy has always been that first and foremost our school is for all primary aged children who live in our catchment area and we hope that this will continue to be the case which fully supports the ethos of our community.

The Governors and staff are also very aware of the protection needed for all our children and have decided that parents offering to give lifts to any children for school trips must be on a new register that will be held in the office. This will involve parents showing their up to date car insurance and undergoing a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check. We always appreciate all offers of help and it enables us to give more opportunities to the children so please sign the slip below if you are willing to be part of this register - Many thanks.

COFFEE MORNING
Please come to our Coffee Morning on Wednesday 4th December from 10.00 -11.45 am. The children are raising money for the Make A Wish Foundation (for more information click on www.make-a-wish.org.uk) and the RSPCA this year and would very much welcome your support by buying their goods and playing their games! One of the stalls will be a Bring'n'Buy for children. If you have anything to give please bring it to Class 4 on Monday. FROGS will be supporting us as well. They will be selling cakes/home produce and crafts so any donations to these would be welcome. As usual we shall be ending the morning with singing and the raffling of the excellent hamper that is growing daily in the entrance hall.

CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PERFORMANCE - THURSDAY 12TH DECEMBER
There will be two performances this year at Croyde Village Hall, one at 2.00 p.m. for parents and younger children and one at 6.30 p.m. As all the children will be at the Village Hall all day there will be no school lunches and each child will need a packed lunch for that day only. We would like pupils in Classes 3 and 4 only to be dropped off at Croyde Village Hall in the morning . Children in Classes 1 and 2 should come to school as normal and will be ferried down mainly by minibus during the morning. We would appreciate it if all the children could be picked up from Croyde at the end of the day.

CHRISTINGLE - SUNDAY 15TH DECEMBER 5.30 P.M. ST. GEORGE'S CHURCH, GEORGEHAM
We will be taking part in this service as a school and would like as many children to come as possible.

CHRISTMAS DINNER
This will be held in school on Wednesday 18th December and it is the tradition that everyone in school takes part. We will also have a special visitor sometime during the proceedings! If your child does not already stay for lunch Mrs. Ash would appreciate the payment of £1.30 per child in an envelope with the child's name, stating that it is payment for Christmas Dinner and requesting any special dietary needs. Dinner money is always collected on Monday morning.
