The Whole School Goes Lambing In The Spring

The whole school visits Incledon Farm by walking over the fields in Family Groups. It's always very special when you can make a visit without needing to go on any roads at all! The children are able to see a lamb being born and this is a very special part of our PSHE in school as well as a very natural way to enhance our sex education. If you look very carefully at the photographs you can see the placenta and bag the lamb was surrounded by in the mother's womb and the umbilical cord that attached the lamb to the sheep and enabled it to develop.

We are very grateful to Mr. And Mrs. Yeo for letting us make these visits and when we visited in March 2006 all the children were able to see lambs being born while they were there!
