Welcome to the 2005-2006 page. This will gradually expand as we progress through the year! Please remember to look on other Gallery pages for different activities.

One of the first special occasions of the school year is our Harvest Festival. This year, parents joined us and we talked a lot about a good harvest. All the classes sang about that too. All our tins and dried food went to the Barnstaple Poverty Action Group.
Two of our Y6 girls worked with Braunton School and Community College to produce an amazing Guy for the November 5th Firework Display at Chivenor. An excellent experience for them!
In November Years 5 and 6 spent a whole day doing drama and producing a performance of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Everybody worked on all the parts and Chris Brooks, the actor, filled in the story so that the children and the audience had a real feel for the play by the end of the session. This is the third time Chris has worked with the children and we shall definitely be inviting him again.
Mrs. Turner acted the part of Florence Nightingale for Class 2 this term. She let the children ask her questions while she was in this role to help them understand her importance in our history.
The theme was red and the children had a great time dancing, playing games and using the balloons in all sorts of ways at the school disco in February!

Thank you very much to all those parents who helped to organise the event and they will be pleased to know that the children are really looking forward to the next one!
Three of our Y6 children entered the Rotary public speaking competition. They did an excellent speech on ?What children can do to make the school successful? and won the cup. This was another very different experience and the staff and parents who watched the event felt very proud of all the effort they put in to reach such a high standard in public speaking.
Our Christmas fundraising raised over £900. On Wednesday 29th March Judith Moore came to talk to us all about the work Childline does. She also accepted a cheque for the Childline Charity of £319.

The other charities we raised money for were the Toybox Appeal and the RSPCA.
50 children came to take part in the musical evening that was lead by Des Miles and the guitar group. Everybody sang in the choir at the beginning and played in the Big Band at the end. Children played recorder guitar and piano through the evening and this year we have had rock bands for the first time!
A lot of hard work went into the evening and the audience really showed their appreciation. Well done everybody.
