Year 6 in London

London is a very special residential trip for Year 6 only. Below are just a few examples of the Highs and Lows of one experience!

Daniel

High- Seeing H.M.S Belfast from The Monument because it is one of the only ships to come back from D-Day.

Low- Going around the top of The Monument for the first time.

High- Seeing Tower Bridge open because it is rare and spectacular.

Low- Having to walk up lots of steps at The Monument, at Baden Powell House and the Underground!

High- Going under the Thames because the Victorians could never get under it to the other side.

Low- Having to carry our luggage around London on the first and last days.

Curtis

The Houses of Parliament were great. It was the best place I have been to in years and years, or it is purely the best place I've been to. Trafalgar Square was an extremely pleasant experience especially as it was a means of cooling down!. We saw Tony Blair and that was thrilling, and the war memorial in the road outside was good too. As we waited for our train we were, I think, all relieved as well as disappointed to go.

Overall the time we spent in London was brilliant and so much fun and good came out of it.

This year we went to see The Sound of Music with Connie Fisher in it, definitely a high. A close second was the Natural History Museum especially Investigate a state-of-the-art, hands-on science centre which we were able to visit for the first time.

Thank you London!
